PM Modi Calls ‘SAARC’ Nations To Come Together Against ‘Coronavirus’

As the Coronavirus has taken the global population down by its effect India is taking steps to ensure regional protectiveness. With close to 100 countries falling under the effect of Coronavirus Prime Minister Modi today took the call.

PM Modi called the leadership of SAARC nations to come together against coronavirus. For the unknown Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are known as the SAARC Countries. Since many of the SAARC countries including India lie close to the center of coronavirus “China” the threat is more.

Prime Minister Modi called the leadership of SAARC to chalk out a joint strategy to fight coronavirus and set an example for the world. “Our planet is battling the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. At various levels, governments and people are trying their best to combat it,” PM Modi said in his tweet. The PM has called the leaders for a video conference on the issue.

The SAARC nations together form the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. SAARC is a regional intergovernmental organization formed in 1985. It aims at fostering regional co-operation and connectivity.
