PM Modi Inaugurates 9 Vande Bharat Express Trains In 11 States: Read More For Complete Insights

On September 24, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched nine Vande Bharat Express trains over video conference, raising the total number of semi-high-speed trains to 34. The recently launched Vande Bharat Express trains will significantly improve connectivity and promote tourism throughout India.  

According to a statement from the PMO, these nine Vande Bharat trains will bring in a new era of rail transportation in the country with their best safety features and high-class amenities, including Kavach technology. 

The 11 states that will gain from the improved link between the nine trains, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat are among them.

In an address made through video conference prior to the flag-off, Prime Minister Modi stated that the pace and scope of infrastructure development are meeting up with the aspirations of 140 crore Indians.

1. Udaipur – Jaipur Vande Bharat Express

The Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week except for Tuesdays. The city of Udaipur will see the departure of the 20979th train. This Vande Bharat Express train will improve the connection between Udaipur and Jaipur. It will cover the distance more swiftly than the current fastest train by about 30 minutes. 

2. Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai Vande Bharat Express

The train will run six days a week, except on Tuesday. The Tirunelveli-Madurai-Chennai Vande Bharat Express train would run between the holy towns of Tirunelveli, Madurai, and Chennai to provide speedier travel for pilgrims. 

3. Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Puri Vande Bharat Express

The Puri-bound train 20836 departs at 5:00 and arrives in Rourkela at 12:45, while the Rourkela-bound train 20835 departs at 14:10 and arrives at 21:40.

4. Jamnagar-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express 

The 5:30 a.m. departure from Jamnagar and the 10:10 a.m. arrival in Ahmedabad of train number 22926. The return train, number 22925, will depart Ahmedabad at 18:00 and arrive in Jamnagar at 22:30.

5. Hyderabad –Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express

With the exception of Wednesday, the Kacheguda Yesvantpur JN, the number 20703 of the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, operates six days a week. departs Kacheguda around 5:30 in the morning and gets to Yesvantpur at approximately 1:00. The 20704 leaving train will go to Kacheguda at 23:15 and get back to Yesvantpur at 14:45.

6. Vijayawada-Chennai (via Renigunta) Vande Bharat Express

The Vijayawada-Chennai (via Renigunta) train will run six days each week, except on Tuesday. The Vande Bharat Express from Vijayawada to Chennai (via Renigunta), train number 20678, will depart at 15:20 and arrive in Chennai at 22:00.

7. Vijayawada-Chennai (via Renigunta) Vande Bharat Express

Thiruvananthapuram – Kasaragod Train number 20633, will depart Kasaragod at 14:30. The CNTL train number 20634 from Thiruvananthapuram will depart at 5:20 and arrive in Kasargod at 13:20. The train will run six days a week, except on Thursday.

8. Ranchi – Howrah Vande Bharat Express

The Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week, except Tuesdays. This railway would provide the quickest connection between Jharkhand and West Bengal. At 5:15 in the morning, it will leave Ranchi and arrive in Howrah at 12:20. For its return trip, the train departs Howrah at 3:45 pm and arrives in Ranchibat at 10:50 pm the same day. 

9. Patna – Howrah Vande Bharat Express

The number 22348 train from Patna to Howrah will depart at 8 a.m. and arrive in Howrah at 14:35. The Howrah to Patna return train departs at 15:50 and arrives at 22:40. This train will run between Patna Junction in Bihar and Howrah in West Bengal.
