PM Modi Skips Wishing China’s Xi Jinping On Birthday, Orders BSNL To Not Use China’s 4G Tech Anymore

In politics, even a small and simple gesture speaks volumes about one’s intention. And something similar happened recently. PM Narendra Modi sent a strong message to China on Monday by not wishing Chinese Premier Xi Jinping a happy birthday after four years of regular wishing.

This seems to be a strong message because PM Modi, despite all the tension in the last four years between the two countries, has never skipped wishing the leader.

To recall, he had wished Xi Jinping, for the first time in 2016 on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. The greeting came despite ongoing tensions between India and China after the latter opposed India’s entry to Nuclear Supplier’s Group, a week of the plenary meeting in Seoul.
