“When India Lost Its Sons..”: PM Modi Tears Into Opposition Over Pulwama Attack

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently in Gujarat to celebrate the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, took the opportunity to slam the opposition days after a viral video from Pakistan, where a minister can be heard accepting Pakistan Parliament’s interference in the Pulwama attack, went viral.

PM Modi, referring to the aforementioned video, said that Pakistan’s acceptance of its involvement in the Pulwama attack in its National Assembly is a slap on the face of the opposition for their stand on the Pulwama attack last year.

“Today when I was watching the parade of officers, an image emerged in my mind… this image was of Pulwama attack. The country can never forget that when India was mourning the death of its sons… some people were not a part of that grief. They were looking for selfish gain in the Pulwama attack,” PM said while addressing the people in Gujarat today.

“In the past few days, news has emerged from the neighbouring country…The way they admitted to the attack in their parliament, it has revealed the true face (of those denying the attack). The new lows they touched for political interest…the politics after Pulwama attack is a huge example of that,” PM added.

Modi then goes on to add that even in politics, the country’s interest is foremost and when “we will work for everyone’s interests, only then the country will progress.”
