Politician Shrikant Tyagi Nabbed By Police After 4 Days Of Hunt

Four days of manhunt ended on Tuesday when Police nabbed Shrikant Tyagi after he travelled to Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Rishikesh and Haridwar. Tyagi was arrested in a molestation case, he was on the run while police were tailing him after a video of him went viral. In the video, it was clearly seen and heard that he was abusing a woman at the Noida housing complex.

Shrikant Tyagi was arrested from the Shradhapuri area, Meerut-Dehradun bypass, Noida Police’s Special Task Force (STF) arrested four people including him. Tyagi has claimed himself to be a national executive member of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha and national coordinator of its Yuva Samiti, which was rejected by BJP Leaders.

“I express my regret for the incident (assaulting and abusing women in Noida society). She is like my sister, the incident is political and was done to politically decimate me,” Tyagi quoted by ANI.

Speaking on the matter, Noida Police Commissioner Alok Singh said, 12 Police teams were resourced to nab Tyagi. He mentioned that the Police were continuously tracking him but he was using tech like Radio and electronic silence to hide.

“He (Shrinkant Tyagi) was rapidly changing his location as well as his vehicles. That’s why he managed to hide for four days. It was a challenging assignment for us. We overcame all the challenges. Human intel and technical intel were used to track him. His associates Nakul Tyagi, Sanjay and a driver named Rahul were helping him,” Mr Singh said.

“It is the police who reached out to the victim first. Had she contacted us on time, we would have caught him,” further added.
