Indian Grandmaster Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, just 17, has defeated Magnus Carlsen, World Champion, for the third time in six months. The match took place, on Monday, at the FTX World Cup, in Miami.

After the score at the end of the regulation game tied at 2-2, Praggnanandhaa defeated him, the world champion, in a blitz tiebreak, which was a moment of disbelief for Magnus Carlsen.

At first, Carlen was leading the game, but he messed it up at the end when he forced Armageddon against Praggnanandhaa. However, based on complete scoring Magnus Carlsen won the event and Praggnanandhaa was placed second.

R Praggnanandhaa started marvellously, in the tournament he started with four back-to-back wins that also includes a 3-1 victory over Levon Aronian, World No.6. He started by defeating Alireza Firouzja and later won over Anish Giri and Hans Nieman.
