Railway Runs 5 More Special Trains For Migrant Workers

After running a special train for migrants from Telangana to Jharkhand Indian Railways is up with 5 more. The 5 special tarins named as “shramik” would run from Kerala today. The trains have also made arrangements for meals and food for passengers onboard. The Railways is charging Rs 50 for tickets.

Out of 5 trains, 2 trains would run from Kochi and 1 would run from the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. The train from Thiruvananthapuram is expected to leave at 2 pm and will run to Hatia in Jharkhand. 1 train is expected to run from Ernakulam to Bhubaneshwar in Odisha.

There were some more trains that were run by Indian Railways on Friday for workers. They were:

  • Maharashtra’s Nashik to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh
  • Aluva in Kerala to Odisha’s Bhubaneswar
  • Jaipur and Kota in Rajasthan to Bihar’s Patna and Hatia

The train from Maharashtra’s Nashik reached its destination on Friday night. Two more special trains were run on Friday around 9 pm carrying Jharkhand students stranded in Kota and Jaipur. With lockdown extended there must be more such trains coming up to ferry migrant workers to their home state.
