Usually, it is the other way round, Isn’t it?
Since historical times Indian musicians, artists, and singers have been copying tunes and songs from Hollywood. In fact, a few Indian singers have their name etched in the list of biggest song thieves. ( definitely NOT Anu Mallik)
But this time, in a shocking turn of events the world famous rapper ‘T-Pain’ ended up copying one of the Indian songs. I know what you are thinking but let me give you the good news that everyone seems to ignore withing all this hullabaloo.
What’s the hype about?
The legendary American rapper T-Pain was trolled. Royally, I might add. He has been accused of stealing a tune from the hit Bollywood track- ‘Tum hi ho’.
He recently released his new song, That’s Yo Money which features a repeating flute melody. Even if you have heard the song ‘Tum hi ho’ just once, I bet you will quickly realize that both the tunes are exactly same.
Though this movie, Aashiqui 2 was released way back in 2013, it didn’t seem to catch the attention of T-Pain until recently. BTW, I am sure T-pain was super stoned when he rapped on the backdrop of ‘Tum hi ho’ flute tone. He absolutely had no idea that it was a Hindi song tune, or was it?
If you haven’t heard it yet, here it is:

Reaction of Indians
For starters, Mithun Sharma, the composer of the song wrote, “Sir, the melody that you have used in your new song is my original work for a previously released Hindi film,” in his tweet. After that, the Indians went berserk with their comments and the rapper T-Pain was trolled like never before.
Addressing this, the song has been removed from YouTube. But it is still available on T-Pain’s original release tweet. The authorities said that they would further look into the issue and sort out the matter.
Check a few of them here:
#ThatsYoMoney is exactly the copied version of #TumHiHo. @TPAIN atleast give the credits to the original musicians. @Mithoon11 @TPAIN @TSeries @raiisonai #Aashiqui2 @ShraddhaKapoor #AdityaRoyKapoor https://t.co/OWk7ECRtPd

Was it T-Pain’s strategy to combine his fan list with Arijit’s?
Who knows, maybe T-pain knew this all along and wanted to join forces with the Indian crowd. I mean, who doesn’t want crazy Indian fans, right? LOL. Whatsoever be the reason, one thing is for sure, all his rap fans will listen to the track ‘That’s Yo Money’ is copied from. Even though their favorite rapper T-Pain was trolled because of it.
It will result in Arijit’s ‘Tum hi ho’ ruling the charts again. Just like it did way back in 2013, only this time- the audience will be from overseas exclusively. I don’t think anyone should have a problem with that.
I bet T-pain is all chilled out and sorted. Whatever the hype is, it is just for a few days. I bet after a few days the netizens will be calling this an epic mash-up of romance and rap.
