Republic Day 2024: Revised Delhi Metro Timings, Services Would Begin at 4 AM

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) declared that the metro services in Delhi will start at 4 am on Friday, January 26. The choice was made with the comfort of those who want to join the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path.

On Friday between 4 and 6 am, there will be a 30-minute headway for the metro trains. After that, the regular timetable for the metro services will apply.

For the Republic Day celebration, passengers using e-invitation cards or e-tickets must only get coupons for their return trip from the Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations.

At the two locations alone, they will receive the vouchers upon presenting legitimate picture ID cards issued by the government.

Furthermore, passengers must leave the Udyog Bhawan Metro Station if they have e-invitation cards with enclosures 1 to 9 as well as V1 and V2 on them.

Similarly, passengers in enclosures 10 to 24 and VN must leave at the Central Secretariat Metro Station. The Ministry of Defence will pay DMRC for the cost of these vouchers (tickets).

To facilitate efficient crowd control, announcements will also be made frequently within the metro trains to make sure that passengers are informed of their designated stops.

By encouraging more people to take public transportation, the measure hopes to ease the traffic on the highways, which are expected to be busy with Republic Day celebrations.
