A months after rebelling against Congress leading to fury in Rajasthan’s Congress clan, Sachin Pilot, reportedly, is seeking an appointment with Congress top leaders including Rahul Gandhi.
As per a report by Hindustan Times, two party leaders shared the information adding that Pilot has sought an appointment with former party chief Rahul Gandhi. The report adds that Pilot has also been speaking to senior leaders Ahmed Patel and KC Venugopal in an apparent softening of his stance.
Team Pilot, however, denied the claims and insisted that their core issue remained – Ashok Gehlot. They want Gehlot to be removed from the post of Chief Minister.
The report of a fresh move of reconciliation comes four days before a special session of the Rajasthan assembly, where Ashok Gehlot is likely to push for a trust vote to prove his majority.
Gehlot has accused Pilot of collaborating with the BJP to pull his government down. However, Mr pilot had said that he has no plans to join the BJP.
A Congress Legislature Party meeting was held on Sunday night at a hotel in Jaisalmer, where Mr Gehlot flew his MLAs to guard his numbers after the August 14 assembly session date was announced.
