In an incident that highlights the utter failure of administration to provide basic amenities to the citizen a 72 years old tribal woman from Odisha’s Mayurbhanj has been forced to reside in a toilet from the past three years with her family.

The women named ‘Draupadi Behera’ said that her whole family, including grandson and daughter, sleep outside while she cooks and sleeps inside the toilet. Draupadi failed to get an accommodation under the state government’s scheme.

The sarpanch of the village in which the lady is residing said that, he has no power to construct a house for the lady and her family. He further says that when an order to construct an additional house under any scheme comes he would provide one to her.
