If it’s getting hectic for you to set your UPI PIN without a debit card on GPay, then there’s an alternative for you. So, if your debit card is blocked, destroyed or you have forgotten your PIN then you can still set up UPI with a different method.

GPay to Let Users Set UPI Without Debit Card

Google Pay, one of the most popular payments apps, is now allowing users to set up their UPI by signing up with the National Payments Corporation of India or NPCI. In this process, the Aadhaar number of the users will become the medium to sign up.

As per the company, users of GPay will no longer need to even remember their debit card PINs. With Aadhaar-based UPI registration, GPay has eradicated the most common but troublesome process to set up UPI. This process is now available for the users whose bank accepts it. It will soon be allowed by all the banks.

Way to Setup Your UPI PIN Without Debit Card:

  • First, make sure your mobile number linked with your Aadhaar and bank account is the same.
  • Aadhaar is linked to your bank account.
  • Now open GPay and go to set your UPI PIN.
  • You will be asked to choose between a debit card or Aadhaar to set up your UPI PIN.
  • Choose Aadhaar to avoid using the Debit Card method.
  • Now enter the first six digits of your Aadhaar number to start.
  • You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
  • After the verification, you will be able to enter your new UPI PIN.
  • The verification will be done through UIDAI and NPCI.
