Lost Your Aadhaar Enrolment ID? Here’s How You Can Recover It

If you can recall, at the time of filing for an Aadhaar card, you must have been provided an enrolment ID (EID). For the unaware, an enrolment ID is simply an identification number that not only helps you to keep track of your Aadhaar application but also allows you to make online changes in Aadhaar card using the UIDAI portal or through the mobile app, mAadhaar.

So logically, an Aadhaar enrolment ID is an important information to keep handy. However, just in case if you have lost the EID number or can’t recall it, here are two methods that can help you recover the same.

Here’s how to retrieve your lost Aadhaar EID online.
  • To start with, visit the UIDAI portal and find ‘retrieve lost or forgotten EID/UID’ or ‘Aadhaar number (UID)’ from the ‘My Aadhaar’ section. 
  • Next, enter all the required details and select ‘send OTP’. 
  • You will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number which you need to authenticate on the next page. 
  • Once done, you will receive the Aadhaar Unique Identity Number on your registered mobile number.

Secondly, you can also fetch the enrollment number via the mAadhaar app. To retrieve, just open the app and select the ‘retrieve EID/UID’ option. Now enter all specifics and ‘request OTP’. After authenticating, the mAadhaar app will display the enrolment ID.
