Winning the toss Pakistan opted to bat and was in a struggle within the first six overs with both Fakhar Zaman and Haris Sohail back to the pavilion. Pakistan’s batting hopes were once again carried by there star Babar Azam who scored his second fifty of the series.
Babar got the support from Iftikhar Ahmed down the order who scored quick-fire 62* to empower Pakistan to a respectable score of 150 for 6. In reply Australia came all guns blazing with Finch and Warner taking the Pakistani seamers for hammering.
Mhd. Amir brought Pakistan back by dismissing David Warner (for the first time in the last five innings) for a score of 20. Soon Finch fell to Irfan giving hope of an unlikely win to Pakistan.
However, Smith had some other plans as he smashed 80* off 51 balls to take Australia home with an over and a half to spare. With the win, Australia went 1-0 up in the three-match T20I series.
Australia has been on a 7-match-winning streak after whitewashing Sri Lanka 3-0 last week and drubbing Pakistan today. The Aussies would look to extend there winning streak and take the series when the two sides meet for the next and final T20I of the series at Perth on Friday.
