Tiktok-like short video feature has become the heart of some apps ever since TikTok has been banned in India. Apps, including Instagram, now allow users to make such TikTok-like short videos and interestingly, they are becoming quite popular too.
Seeing this popularity surge, Snapchat has also launched a new feature that allows anyone to create short videos and also earn money while doing so. The new feature has been named Spotlight.
What is Snapchat Spotlight?
Snapchat has launched a dedicated tab named “Spotlight” within the app. With Spotlight, you can submit a video up to 60-second long and anyone whose video gains popularity will have the chance to win a share of 1 million dollars.
The feature is accessible to all Snapchat users, irrespective of their follower count or their popularity on the platform.
How Can You Submit Your Video?
A user can submit their video/videos by simply clicking on the ‘Send To’ option on the screen, followed by tapping on ‘Spotlight’.
Snapchat further goes on to add that anyone seeking a share of prize money needs to produce original content. Any infringing material or content reported by others would be taken down by Snapchat. Also, anyone who is 16 or older will only be considered for the prize money.
Also, Spotlight, as of now, is only available in limited countries – US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, France, Norway, Sweden, New Zealand, and Denmark.
