In what would break the heart of every kid who has grown up soaking Spider-Man content, Marvel might lose one of their veteran heroes to an on-going profit-sharing conflict between Disney’s Marvel Studio and Sony pictures. As per the reports, the two are trying to figure out the financial terms for the upcoming Spider-Man movies. However, in case there is a disagreement, Kevin Feige, might back-off from producing Spider-Man movies in the future.

At first, reported by Deadline, Marvel Studios has been trying to convince Disney for a 50/50 percent profit share in future Spider-Man films, which doesn’t excite Sony a bit. Sony, owning the idea outright wants to adhere to the deal they have been keeping since 2015 when Disney and Marvel joined hands.

For the inundated, Sony has held the rights to the Marvel character since 1985, however, in 2015, Disney and Marvel announced a partnership that allowed Spider-Man to be used in MCU films like ‘Avengers: Endgame‘.

Sony currently is believed to be developing two standalone Spider-Man movies that bring the likes of Watts and star Tom Holland under one roof. However, if a deal is not signed, these films will be entirely under Sony’s production. The last movies featuring Spiderman were Spider-Man- Far From Home, which is Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing film ever and the animated, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

As of now, negotiations are being made and we also have a #SaveSpiderMan social media campaign already active on Twitter.
