Two Indian Hawk aircraft from the Surya Kiran Aerobatics team crashed into each other during practice before Aero India show at Bengaluru base.
Surya Kiran has always been a crowd attraction at many Aero India show. During the practice sortie before the main event of 12th edition Aero India 2019, two hawks were crashed in the mid-air.

A day before the main event (12th edition Aero India 2019) two aircraft from the Surya Kiran Aerobatics team crashed at the Yelahanka air base in Bengaluru. Both the aircraft were practising for Aero India when they crashed into each other. Two search helicopters were already deployed towards the crash.
Pilots were able to eject on time but one of the civilians has been injured severely according to the reports. The wreck of the crashed aircraft has fallen near ISRO layout, Yelahanka new town area.
Aircraft were practising sortie when they lost control and came down falling from the sky. Their formation was right and all the parameters were also normal. Till now there is no clear explanation of what caused this crash.
“It requires high skills to perform these aerobatic moves in the mid-air, and such crashes occur quite often in all over the world. This is extremely dangerous and demands hours and hours of practice. The incident is quite unfortunate, but now a committee of experts will analyse it crash.” said Wing Commander, Praful Bakshi.

Four years ago, on this same date, Flying Bulls aerobatic team had a mid-air collision during the main show (Aero India Show). That crash was occured in the front of the audience.
Fortunately, this was during the practice and both the pilots are also safe. There is one casualty but reports still have to confirm how severe it is.
