The storm of emergency meetings started when the videos of helpless students in Ukraine being mistreated spread all over social media.

Entire government machinery is working constantly without any break to make sure that Indian citizens in Ukraine are safe and secure, PM Modi comments. His statement comes at the time when the government was criticised for their efforts to save students in Ukraine. All became worried when the videos flooded over social media of the distraught students being mistreated in Ukraine. On the other hand, the helpless parents and friends of the students pleaded that their children should be evacuated as soon as possible.

A student recorded and sent a despairing appeal from the Kyiv railway station. He said they are being “attacked with sticks” and “thrown out of trains” when they reach the station to evacuate under the instructions of the Indian embassy.
