A woman from Detroit, Michigan woke up to her best Christmas surprise when she realized that her secret Santa was none other than Bill Gates himself.
Shelby, who participated in 95 RedditGifts exchanges (an online activity for Reddit users to exchange Christmas gifts) found that the Microsoft founder would himself send her presents this Christmas.
Interestingly, Bill Gates has been participating in the gift exchange activity on Reddit since 2013. “It’s well documented that Bill Gates has been participating for years, but I never, ever thought he would be my Secret Santa,” Shelby told CNN.

Shelby revealed that she received a box of surprises from Bill Gates weighing 46 kilos. The box was stuffed with an “extremely fancy manuscript copy of The Great Gatsby”, hammock, chocolates, a Harry Potter Santa hat and gifts for her cat.
Bill Gates also made a donation to the American Heart Association. The donation was made in the name of Shelby’s mother, who had died 10 days before her wedding.

Shelby shared her unbelievable experience in a video that she shared on YouTube. “Bill Gates, you are a blessing… I still cannot believe how lucky/cool/honored/all the adjectives I am to have had someone craft such a special and personal set of gifts just for little ol’ me,” Shelby wrote in a post.
