In The Words Of Our PM
‘Nine long years ago, it was decided in St. Petersburg that the target of doubling the tiger population would be 2022. We in India completed this target four years early,’ said PM Modi while releasing the results of the fourth cycle of All India Tiger Estimation at his official residence.
To elaborate the achievement that was possible because of the government implementing the tiger conservation methodology, he went on to mention the number of tigers India had and how it increased.
According to the reports, tiger population in India has increased from 2,226 in 2014 to 2,967 in 2018.
With this, the threat of tiger extinction has come to an end and we can be rest assured about watching them flourish in their natural habitats.
