Tigers Clicked ‘Chewing’ Plastic Drum, Present Dark Picture Of Plastic Pollution

In a picture that shows how deeply plastic has penetrated our environment Tigers were seen chewing ‘plastic’. The picture is from the famous Corbett Tiger Reserve in Uttrakhand.

The pictures clicked by tourists last month show tigers chewing on a plastic drum around the Dhikala range in the reserve. The pictures got viral and raised concerns among officials about the health of tigers and the menace of plastic pollution in the reserve.

The pictures are raising eyebrows as the tiger reserve is a plastic-free zone and even the tourists are not permitted to carry plastic products inside the reserve. The presence of a plastic drum shows the failure of authorities to keep the environment safe for the ‘big cats’. An investigation is underway in the matter.
