Although, social media helps us all to stay connected with the world. But for a while now, these social media apps have become a nuisance for the government.

Indian government has already warned Whatsapp to make appropriate changes to restrict the broadcast of fake news on its platform. But in the case of Tik-Tok, there was no warning. To this official at ByteDance reacted by saying, “We have faith in the Indian Judicial system and the stipulations afforded to social media platforms by the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011…We have been stepping up efforts to take down objectionable content.”
