Taking an effort to help the citizens of Hyderabad inhale pollution-free air the municipal corporation has decided to install outdoor air purifiers. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has sent out a proposal to air purifier manufacturer firm Strata Enviro to provide 500 units in the first phase.
Initially, the air purifiers would be installed in three locations of the city, namely Gachibowli, Jubilee Hills, and Panjagutta. The selection of these three cities was made as they experience a spike in air pollution levels during the peak traffic hours.

The air quality index for particulate matter in Hyderabad at different monitoring locations ranged from 91 to 154 on Sunday.
