While it might be Unlock 1 that is going on the rising number of cases would keep the trains suspended for long. Indian Railways has said regular time-tabled trains including passenger, mail, and suburban train services would remain suspended till 12th August. Earlier this was till 30th June.
However, certain special trains would keep on plying on the selected routes. This would include 200 mail express trains and 30 Rajdhani trains running from June 1 and May 12 respectively, suburban trains along the Central and Western railway zones and Shramik Special trains. With India clocking over 4.9 lakh cases and setting daily high records of cases the decision has been taken.
With the cancelation of the trains till 12th August as a passenger:

- Who booked tickets from the railway counter would be eligible to apply for a refund from the date of the journey till 6 months. One would have to file a Ticket Deposit Receipt or TDR at the station. TDRs would have to be filed within 2 months to chief claim officer or chief commercial manager refund’s office. After verification refund would be credited.
Meanwhile, railways have said that more special trains in addition to the 230 trains that are running would also be announced in the future.
