In a historic and inclusive move, 3 paramilitary forces of the country would recruit transgender people as a part of the team. The Union home ministry asked the views of the paramilitary forces on recruitment of transgender people as officers in their ranks. To this CRPF, BSF And SSB have given a thumbs up.
The CentralReserve Police Force (CRPF) has said it is ready to make its force “compatible” to the new recruits. The CRPF further says that it fully values the spirit of the gender-neutral work environment as said by the Supreme Court. Border Security Force (BSF) has also given an affirmative response.
SS Deswal director general of BSF and also Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) chief said that they have no objection with the move. The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) said that it is ready to recruit transgender persons to the officer cadre post of assistant commandants.
The 2 forces namely the ITBP and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) are yet to give there response on the matter to the Home ministry. The idea is to include transgender as 3rd category in the recruitment drive scheduled for December this year.
