Travel From Connaught Place to Gurugram in 7 Minutes with Air Taxis!

IndiGo’s parent company, InterGlobe Enterprises, and US-based Archer Aviation will start an all-electric air taxi service in India in 2026. This service would take customers from Connaught Place to Gurugram in seven minutes.

As part of the agreement, Archer Aviation will deliver 200 electric vertical takeoffs and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. In addition to the pilot, a single aircraft may transport four passengers. The aircraft performs similarly to a helicopter, but with significantly less noise and improved safety features.

InterGlobe and Archer Aviation will develop comparable taxi services in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi as part of their joint venture.

How Much Does Air Taxi Service In Delhi Cost?

Archer Aviation executives expect that a seven-minute trip from Connaught Place to Gurugram, Haryana, will cost between Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,000.

Archer Aviation’s Founder and CEO, Adam Goldstein, claimed that continued negotiations with the US regulator, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), suggest an advanced stage in the certification process for their aircraft. Certification is expected next year, and the corporation will then begin the certification procedure with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Goldstein said that the business plans to launch flights in India in 2026. The company also intends to deploy 200 of its Midnight aircraft for the missions. Archer Aviation would first focus on Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.

According to Goldstein, a vehicle takes about 90 minutes to travel the 27-kilometre journey between Connaught Place and Gurugram and costs roughly Rs 1,500.

Archer Aviation’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nikhil Goel, said that the five-seater Midnight aircraft can accommodate a pilot and four passengers. With six battery packs, the plane will recharge entirely in 30-40 minutes, with one minute of charging equaling one minute of flight duration. In addition, Archer Aviation is finalizing the specifics of a joint venture with InterGlobe Enterprises.

The firm is now in contact with many communities about the flight’s infrastructure and other operational issues.

Conversations are also happening about the real estate required for vertiports or launchpads, as well as other critical infrastructure to begin flying operations.
