Two Protesters Barge Into Sydney Ground Holding ‘No $1B Adani Loan’ Signs During IND vs Aus ODI

As spectators at the stadium are back, so are their little habits with one of them being using international grounds to raise home and world issues.

In a strange incident on Friday, during ongoing India vs Australia ODI match in Australia, a couple of protestors barged into the ground in Sydney holding signs that read, ‘NO $1B ADANI LOAN’ signs.

In fact, as the intrusion happened, the thing to note was that it took a long time for the security to interfere and escort the protesters of the ground. The Australian cricket management also came under fire post-incident as such incidents are believed to risk a player’s health who are currently in secure bio-bubbles.

Meanwhile, as far as the protestor is concerned, the front of the protesters’ T-shirt said “#StopAdani”, while at the back, it said “Stop Coal. #StopAdani. Take Action.”

The protest, as per the reports, was against a recent project clearance grabbed by Adani.

On Friday, the Stop Adani group had issued a press release, urging the State Bank of India to not approve a loan of $1 billion Australian dollars to Adani for its coal mining project in Australia.

It was in September this year that Australia’s Adani coal mine registered a victory against environmental activists that allowed it to go ahead with the project. The group had argued that the project had offered more than 1500 jobs to people in the state of Queensland.
