U.P Government Accepts Congress Party’s Offer Of Deploying 1,000 Buses For Migrants

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath accepted Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s request. Priyanka said that state congress would like to deploy 1,000 buses for ferrying migrant workers. The request was earlier not provided by the state government.

Earlier 980 buses returned to Bharatpur, Alwar, and other parts of Rajasthan after UP government did not give permission. The UP government said that they did not get the list of the buses from the Congress justifying the act. The CM of UP also slammed the Congress for not submitting the list of buses and playing ‘petty politics’.  

In a recent development Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi, has written a letter to Priyanka. The letter highlights the acceptance of the offer. Details of 1000 buses & drivers without delay have also been sought from.

Migrants have been on their toes amidst lockdown. In spite of trains and buses being run the news of the death of workers is seen coming each day. U.P has meanwhile has asked the authorities to not allow anyone entre the state who is on foot. The state has also asked to prevent movement on foot by migrants on the highways.
