Uddhav Invites PM Modi For Swearing In Ceremony

After a series of ups and downs, Uddhav Thackrey is all set to take the oath as the Chief Minister (CM) of Maharashtra today. The ceremony which would be held in the iconic Shivaji park on Thursday evening would see many top-notch leaders from the three parties in attendance.

The ‘to be’ CM Uddhav called up Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to his oath ceremony late on Wednesday. He also sent a letter of invitation to the PM as well. The chances of PM attending the event are however, less.

Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and former PM Manmohan Singh were also expected to attend the event however as per sources they would not be there. Uddhav’s son Aditya went to Delhi to give invitation to Manmohan and Sonia.

Invitations were also sent to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, DMK president MK Stalin, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and nearly 400 farmers from various districts of Maharashtra for the swearing-in ceremony. While Kejriwal expressed his inability to come others including top opposition leaders are expected to attend the ceremony.

This would be the first time that a Thackrey family member would become the CM of Maharashtra. Also, it would be the first time in the past 20 years that Shiv Sena would have its CM in Maharashtra.

Uddhav is expected to have only one Deputy Cheif Minister which is more likely to come from the NCP. The speaker would be from Congress while the deputy speaker post would be given to NCP.
