A government school teacher in Uttar Pradesh made a whopping Rs 1 crore by frauding the system and working simultaneously with 25 schools.
The woman named Anamika Shukla was a full-time science teacher employed in the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV). She was working simultaneously in multiple schools in districts like Ambedkar Nagar, Baghpat, Aligarh, Saharanpur and Prayagraj, among others.
The matter came into limelight after a record of teachers and their information was being made. As the details were collected, it was found that Anamika’s name, with the same personal details, had been listed at 25 schools.
It is surprising that the teacher, Anamika Shukla, was able to do this despite real-time monitoring of teachers’ attendance in UP primary schools.
“How can a teacher mark her presence at several places even when they are supposed to mark their attendance online on the Prerna portal? It needs a thorough probe,” said the official who had first received a complaint about the teacher in March.
Shukla was fraud teaching at KGBV schools across India. For the unknown, KGBV schools are schools for girls from weaker sections and teachers are appointed on a contract basis. They are paid approximately Rs 30,000 per month.
The native of Manipur had been enrolled with these schools for the last one year and had made a whopping Rs. 1 crore from the same.
