Veteran Actor Anupam Shyam Takes His Last Breathe At 63

The 63-year-old veteran actor Anupam Shyam died on Monday due to a kidney infection and multiple organ failure. He was admitted to Lifeline hospital in Goregaon four days ago, said his friend actor Yashpal Sharma.

Anupam Shyam, best known for his work on TV shows like “Mann Ki Awaz Pratigya” and a special appearance in movies like “Slumdog Millionaire” and “Bandit Queen“.

Mr Yashpal Sharma said ‘Shyam breathed his last at the hospital amid the presence of his two brothers, Anurag and Kanchan.’ Moreover, he said that the doctors informed us about his death 40 minutes ago. I was at the hospital, with his brothers Anurag and Kanchan. His body is still there in the hospital.

Mr Sharma told PTI that “It will be brought to his residence, New Dindoshi, MHADA colony in the morning. The funeral will take place later in the day.”

In their three-decade-long career, Anupam Shyam featured in movies like “Satya“, “Lagaan“, “Dil Se“, “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi” and received critical acclaim for his role as Thakur Sajjan Singh on “Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya“, which aired in 2009 on Star Plus.

Recently, he resumed shooting for season two of his show “Mann Ki Awaaz: Pratigya”.
