A recent analysis of lander Vikram’s descent graph shows that the contact was lost a mere 400 meters above the moon surface. On Saturday when the news of the failure of the mission came ISRO informed that the contact was lost 2.1 Kms above the surface. The lander went off track at 2.1Kms but the contact was lost at 400 meters. Meanwhile, the orbiter of the Chandrayaan-2 was reported safe and is would be orbiting the moon for the next 7 years.
