Our very own Indian skipper Virat Kohli never holds himself back, when it comes to criticism or praising someone for their talents and hard work.
This time, three of the players were hand-picked by the skipper to shower compliments and praises for their impeccable form.
In Kohil’s Words
While giving an interview to TOI, Kohli was quoted saying,”They are amazing. The level of confidence that they have is amazing to see. As I have mentioned so many times before, at 19-20, we were not even half the players these guys are.”
These three players are none other than Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill. And why not. The level of maturity that these three players have shown was worth noticing, and they indeed deserved to be praised.
In Kohli’s opinion, all these young stars need a rub on the shoulders so that they can amplify there skills to use for team India. He further added, “Skills have developed because of exposure to tournaments like the IPL. It’s the best thing that can happen to a cricketer.”

But Why These Three Players?
To this Virat had an elaborate answer. He said,”They are so confident by the time they come here that they learn very quickly from their mistakes, because they have already played in front of so many people. But the intent has to be that ‘I am using this platform to play for my country’. And I think that these guys are in that zone.”
Pant, Iyer and Gill have shown a tremendous game in the last matches and have listened to every advice that the skipper gave them. All thanks to the changed equation inside the dressing room, where senior players no longer scold the juniors.
According to Kohli,”Daatne wala mahaul ab toh change room mein hain hi nahin (the culture of scolding isn’t there in the dressing room.) As friendly as I am with Kuldeep (Yadav), I am the same with MS (Dhoni). The atmosphere is such that anyone can say anything to anyone. I am like walking up to people and telling them, ‘dekh maine yeh galtiya kari hain, tu mat kar (listen, I have committed these mistakes, make sure you don’t do the same).”
