Watch: Chinese Factory Organises Kissing Competition To Celebrate Reopening And ‘Lift’ Employees Spirit

China has begun to ease down the lockdown woes as new cases in the country has constantly dropped. From population brimming at the tourist spots to people getting married, most of the things are happening in China.

And now as people are back on their work, the employers are also organising competitions to lift their spirit. In a recent viral video, one such factory in China organised a kissing competition for the couple. In this bizarre contest, factory employees who participated had to kiss each other from the opposite side of a Plexiglas barrier.

The firm named Yueya organised the competition and invited as many as 10 couples to participate. Most of them unmarried were asked to kiss each other separated by a piece of plastic.

The competition was organised in the city of Suzhou, in East China’s Jiangsu province to lift the spirit of the people.

Factory owner Mr. Ma said that the plastic thing was to thwart the possibility of people catching the virus.

“Some of the participants were actually married couples who both work in the factory. This pandemic has made everyone very tense. They haven’t been able to relax, and that might cause mistakes in the production process. That’s why I arranged the kissing contest to make everyone happy. To avoid any accidents, we put a piece of Plexiglas between everyone and disinfected it with alcohol several times,” Mr. Ma added.

Since the lockdown was lifted, China has been seeing a steady rise in the coronavirus cases. And events like this will only add to its woes.
