The protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is not looking to die out at anytime soon. On Friday Chief Minister (CM) of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee was leading a protest against the act in Siliguri.
Addressing the people who came to join the protest Mamta said that she is fighting against the National Register Of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). She further said the people to join hands with her, and requested all to come forward to save our democracy.
The CAA act that grants Indian citizenship for non-Muslims from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh who moved to India till 2014 has been under the hammer for its communal and anti-constitutional nature.
