Thousands have been tricked till now into clicking a phishing email sent by a team of hackers. Hackers that are pretending to be part of the Instant Messaging Platform WhatsApp’s team. They aim to trick you by making you a prey of their personal info heists. This has been found out by the team of Internet Security Researchers at Armorblox. The research platform claims that a phishing crusade is rapidly targeting the users of Meta owned platform.

Initially, a user will receive an email that will imitate the themes and body text of WhatsApp to look authentic. Hackers have programmed it to even surpass the spam filters so that you can receive it as an important mail. When you open the message it will claim that you have received a voice message on your application.

To motivate users to click on the message, email offers a play button to listen to the voice message. As soon as your curiosity wins you will click on the message and be directed to a malicious site. The site will flood your screen with ads, adult content, scam messages etc and hackers will quickly be able to generate ad revenue with this trick.
