Elon Musk Tweeted
Musk made a statement on social media platform while focusing on the keyword “free speech”. He said, “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated. I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spambots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.”
Initially, his bid was seen as a hostile takeover by the board and they opposed it. But as soon as Musk announced its secured funds the board members met for a small discussion with the Tesla co-founder. Wall Street Journal pointed out that on Friday Musk met “privately with several shareholders of the company to extol the virtues of his proposal” and also made video calls to them to push for his case.”
Musk made another post on his social media account saying, “I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter because that is what free speech means.”
His tweet got more likes than a million. And Musk already has plans for free speech platform to reform its functioning, he also tweeted about it recently and wrote, “If our Twitter bid succeeds, we will defeat the spam bots or die trying!”
