‘YouTube’ Now Has This Dedicated Feature For Students

As everyone is locked down and things have moved online there is a surge in ‘online classes’. Keeping that in mind YouTube has come with a feature dedicated for students. YouTube has launched this feature to help students and educators amidst the lockdown.

YouTube has launched a ‘YouTube Learning‘ feature on its platform. YouTube Learning, the new feature contains resources like curriculum-relevant topics in physics, math, and biology, language studies, study hacks, and much more. Users can access YouTube Learning on mobile as well as on desktop using the Explore tab.

Apart from curriculum-relevant topics, YouTube Learning also has video resources on topics related to photography and yoga. This is kept in mind to help people who want to learn new skills amidst lockdown. As of now, the content is available in English and Hindi. Soon it would add Tamil, Telegu, Marathi, Bengali, and other languages.

Google has launched and is also planning some more moves for students apart from this ‘YouTube Learning’ move. These are:

  • Google has made the premium features of Google Meet video conferencing platform available for free to G Suite and G Suite for Education customers, globally, until September 2020. It enables up to 250 participants in a single video-conference.
  • It has launched EDU hub, featuring a collection of resources that help get started with remote-teaching.
  • Google is also launching a new kids section on its Play Store that will have “teacher-approved” apps

The rollout of kids’ special features would first take place in U.S. After its U.S. launch the International rollout would take place.
