After opening a no profit no loss dispensary in its premises to provide cheap medicines to all, Delhi’s Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is coming up with another socialist service to allow cheap MRI scans to the needy. The Gurudwara, from December 2020, will offer MRI scan tot he needy at just Rs 50.
The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) said that a dialysis centre at the Guru Harkrishan Hospital within the gurdwara premises has been set up. The same will start functioning next week. A dialysis procedure will cost only Rs 600, DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa said.
Diagnostic machines, costing Rs 6 crore, were donated to the hospital. Four of the needed machines – for dialysis, and a machine each for ultrasound, X-Ray and MRI – have been donated as per the reports.
The committee said that for the one in need, the MRI service will be available for Rs 50, while others can opt for the service for Rs 800. A private hospital charges as much as 3,000-5,000 for an MRI scan.
Also, X-ray and ultrasound for low-income people will cost Rs 150 only.
