A theme park in China in a disgusting behaviour tied a pig to ropes and made it bungee jump off a 223-foot high tower. The incident reportedly happened at the Meixin Red Wine Town theme park near China’s Chongqing municipality on Saturday.
In the video shared on YouTube, the staff at the park can be seen pushing the pig off the tower as a publicity stunt for its new bungee jumping attraction. But wait this is not the worst part.
The worst part is that while all this is happening, people in the backdrops can be seen cheering and screaming least cared about the post soul.
The video then cuts to a scene of the pig lying apparently semi-conscious on the platform before it is dragged away by staff. It was later taken to a slaughterhouse.
After the cruel act garnered attention on the web, netizens came out to slam the authorities for promoting such inhuman crimes for once personal benefits.
“Killing animals for consumption and treating them cruelly for entertainment are two different things,” wrote one commenter on Weibo. “It’s a disgusting marketing idea to attract attention by abusing a pig!” said another.
Later, assured that the publicity stunt has worked, the theme park authority – for what I suppose is a mere showoff – released an apologetic starment.
“We sincerely accept netizens’ criticism and advice and apologise to the public,” the statement said. “We will improve our marketing of the tourist site, to provide tourists with better services.”
