Ghaziabad, Noida Along With 13 Other Districts In U.P. Sealed With ‘Immediate Effect’ No Outing For ‘Essentials’, Mumbai To Be Locked Down Till 30th April

As the COVID-19 menace is getting high Uttar Pradesh government has taken a strong decision. COVID-19 hotspots in the state Noida ( Gautam Buddh Nagar), Ghaziabad along with 13 other districts have been sealed till 13th April. The order would be applicable with immediate effect.

The sealing down would be from midnight of 8th April till 13th April. That is a day before the 21-day national lockdown comes to an end. The announcement was made by Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday. In seal-down people would not be allowed even to my essentials like vegetables, milk, ration, etc.

Door to door delivery of essentials would be arranged by the authorities. Sanitization of societies and houses would also take place. As per sealing rules, no one would be allowed to move out of their houses. Only Police and medical services related people would be allowed to move out. Sabzi Mandis. Ration shops, Milk booths, etc would also remain closed as per the rules. In cases of emergency situation one would be allowed to move out of their home.

The step is taken to prevent the community spread of the virus in the state. Following districts are sealed as per the order:

  • Agra
  • Ghaziabad
  • Gautam Buddh Nagar
  • Basti
  • Kanpur
  • Varanasi
  • Lucknow
  • Shamli
  • Bulandshahr
  • Sitapur
  • Maharajganj
  • Meerut
  • Bareilly
  • Firozabad
  • Saharanpur

Essential services would be provided at the doorstep in these districts and the providers would not allow to open a store or perform the open counter sale. Ghaziabad and Noida are the main hotspots of Coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh (U.P.). The state of the U.P has recorded around 326 cases so far.

Meanwhile. Mumbai is all set to extend the lockdown till 30th April as the state of Maharashtra remains the worst hit. The city has reported around 782 positive cases and 50 deaths as per the latest reports.

These decisions have come at a time when the state governments are urging the center to extend the lockdown. The decisions of extension of national lockdown would soon follow as almost all the states are asking for it. As per the latest reports, the PM Modi has indicated that the lockdown would be extended.
