Government Launches Coronavirus Helpline

Amidst the outbreak of the dangerous Coronavirus, the central government has taken an important step. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has launched a 24*7 helpline to respond to queries on the novel coronavirus.

One can call the number: +91-11-23978046 to know the details about the District and State Surveillance Officers. If required, one can also connect with the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP).

The government has also appealed passengers who have a travel history to China since January 1, 2020, to come forward for self-reporting. Meanwhile, the Indian embassy in China has already opened 3 hotlines to respond to concerns of those affected by this situation & is continuing to respond to concerns basis currently available information. An Air India Jumbo is also ready to perform evacuations of Indians from China.

While no cases have been confirmed in India the government is taking all necessary steps to prevent its penetration. People flying down from China have been put under observation.

As per reports, around 450 people have been kept under watch for their possible exposure to the infection. The symptoms of being effected involve fever, cough, respiratory distress.
