As the death toll in Delhi violence rises to 21 a threatening news of the death of an Intelligence Bureau (IB) personnel has surfaced. 26-years old IB Security Assistant Ankit Sharma was killed in a mob attack during the violence.
Sharma was killed in the riots that broke out in the Chand Bagh area of Delhi. His body was found dumped in a drain. Sharma was missing since Tuesday evening. Ankit’s body was pulled out from Chandbag drain and was identified by his father Devendra Sharma. Ankit’s father is working in Delhi Police.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the citizens to maintain peace and harmony. In his two tweets, the PM said that he had an extensive review of the situation prevailing in various parts of Delhi. The PM also wrote that the agencies were working to restore normalcy.
The PM tweeted, “I appeal to my sisters and brothers of Delhi to maintain peace and brotherhood at all times. It is important that there is calm and normalcy is restored at the earliest”.
