LPG Cylinder To Get Costlier By Rs 25 From Today, Check New Prices Here

In a big blow to households, reports are that the state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) as of February 4, have hiked the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder by Rs 25. The new rates will come into effect from today.

Owing to this increase, the price of an LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at Rs 719 per cylinder (14.2 kg). Meanwhile, in Kolkata, the LPG cylinder will from today cost Rs 745.50. In Mumbai and Chennai, the new prices are Rs 719 and Rs 735, respectively.

For the unaware, earlier in the month of December, the price per LPG cylinder in Delhi was increased by Rs 100. However, there was no increase in the price in January 2021.

OMCs, on a regular basis, revise the price of LPG cylinders, which is mainly dependent on the international benchmark rate of LPG and the US dollar and rupee exchange rate.

Meanwhile, one must also note that the price of a commercial cylinder (19 kg) has been decreased by Rs 6. It is to be noted that the price of commercial cylinders had gone up by as much as Rs 190 per cylinder. As of now, a commercial cylinder in Delhi costs Rs 1,533, which is an increase of Rs 184. In Mumbai, the price is Rs 1,482.50, meanwhile in Kolkata and Chennai Rs 1,598.50 and Rs 1,649, respectively.

Households in India can purchase a maximum of 12 LPG cylinders per year at subsidised rates. If you need an extra one, you get it at non-subsidised rates.
