As our country is moving forward towards digitization, all the services can be avail through online mode. The sole purpose to provide online digital services is the convenience of the customers. But still, some people are misusing the services they are provided and executing cyber crimes. Their criminal mind is bound to find the flaws in the system to take advantage of its vulnerability. Out of all the online services, today we are going to alert you about UPI payments. Recently SBI has posted a Tweet in which they have alerted the customers regarding scanning the QR codes for receiving payments.

As UPI payment transactions can be done by scanning QR codes or by using UPI ID. So taking advantage of the QR code payment system some people are misusing this facility to execute cybercrimes. SBI has said in their official Twitter handle, that UPI users don’t need to scan QR codes for receiving money. Users can use UPI ID to receive payments instead of scanning QR. As some QR codes are suspected to be fake, that is making some customers their prey for financial fraud.

As per SBI, customers are advised only to scan QR to make payments not to receive them. In some situations, you can become the victim of cyber fraud if the QR code is found to be fake. Also if you get any mail or message regarding scanning codes please ignore the message or block them. In the worst-case scenario, your figure in the bank account will be emptied. You will receive the message of receiving payment but money will not be credited.
