While places of worship and malls have open today with certain restrictions the question is when would the school and colleges?. Providing an answer to that is Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal. The HRD minister provided the plan for the opening of schools and colleges across the country.
He said that there is a possibility of opening Schools and colleges post 15th August in a phased manner. While states like Haryana are planning to open it from July other states have not made any such plans. As per the phased opening plan, Green and Orange zones would reopen their institutes first
In order to maintain strict social distancing norms, there would be two shifts in schools and colleges. Taling about pending examinations the minister said, “We are trying to get declared all the results from the examinations this session by August 15. This means those exams which have already taken place before and those which are taking place now“.
As far as university exams are concerned most of the University in line with UGC’s advice has decided to conduct exams only for final year students. Maharashtra meanwhile has decided not to conduct that too. India would not like to go the Israel way with a hast decision. In Israel, the schools were forced to shut after reopening as the cases boomed in students and teachers.
