Telangana CM Advises PM Modi To Extend ‘Lockdown’ Till 3rd June Based On Report That Said It Should Be Till ‘September’

As a good possibility of extension of lockdown beyond 14th April is there Telangana Chief Minister (CM) has called for it openly. Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has called for the extension of the nationwide Coronavirus lockdown till June 3rd.

KCR has cited the BCG (Boston Consulting Group) report while appealing the Prime Minister for extension. The report predicted that the restriction could be extended until the middle of September. As per the report, the government would only lift the lockdown between the 4th week of June and the 2nd week of September.

The BCG reports attribute this duration of lockdown to challenges faced by India in terms of the health system preparedness. It also took into account the record of public policy effectiveness. As per the report in the 3rd week of June India would witness a peak in the number of coronavirus. However, BCG has clarified that a report in his name is been circulated without its authorization. This document does not represent an ‘official BCG view’ nor does it purport to state how the pandemic will pan out’, said BCG.
