Tesla Makes India Entry, Here’s What Its First Car In India Would Cost

Elon Musk, keeping his promise to bring Tesla to India in 2021, has registered Tesla as a company in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Telsa has reportedly set up an R&D unit in Bengaluru, Karnataka CM, BS Yediyurappa had tweeted on Tuesday

Mr Yediyurappa took on Twitter to write, “Karnataka will lead India’s journey towards Green Mobility. Electric Vehicle Manufacturer Tesla will soon start its operations in India with an R&D unit in Bengaluru. I welcome Elon Musk to India and Karnataka and wish him all the very best.”

However, the tweet has been deleted now for reasons unknown.

Despite the tweet being brought down, media houses continue to report that Tesla has officially set up space in Bengaluru with some even sharing videos of the building the company is expected to operate from.

Also, as per an NDTV report, the electric car maker will later set up production and research units in as many as five states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Earlier, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had announced that Tesla will make its way in India with its Tesla Model 3. The cheapest among Tesla vehicles cost ₹55 lakh.
