New measures and notifications have become normal amidst this pandemic. From banning the sale of chewable to banning spitting in public places it all has happened. Now, it is time for the ban on the purchase of new vehicles. Yes, you can purchase a new vehicle as it’s for the government only.
No, it’s not an all India ban but for Haryana, as the state government has decided to roll out the move. The Haryana government announced that there would be a complete ban on the purchase of new vehicles, including cars and jeeps by the government. The decision was taken by the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The ban would be applicable for the entire financial year.
However, buses for public transport and vehicles used for an emergency are exempted from the ban. In case of very urgent need of a new car or jeep, outsourcing/hiring of the vehicles should be done said the government. State’s revenue sources have dried up in view of the ongoing. It has lost a whopping ₹4,600 crore revenue.
The CM said, “ We will have to curtail our expenses and generate sources of income“. The decision of vehicle purchase ban is in line with that. The state has already frozen new recruitments for a year.
