Popular social media platform ‘Twitter’ is soon going to eliminate all kinds of fake news. From next month Twitter would start labeling, and in some cases removing, doctored or manipulated media that users share on the platform.
This would be done as per the new policy that the company has adopted. It would also take action against videos edited using artificial intelligence or other advanced software used to spread fake news.
Twitter would also label the video or photo so users know it has been doctored. However. it would let it remain on the social media network. In case of a threat to ‘public safety,’ such content would be removed.
The move is expedited as the U.S. Presidential elections are near. There are concerns that politicians, or bad actors from outside the established political system, might try to influence public opinion through misleading videos or photos shared on social media.
